These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ICD-11 Global mobile application (“the App”). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App is a reference for looking up codes and texts of the International Classification of Diseases, Eleventh Revision (ICD-11), Mortality and Morbidity Statistics (MMS), offline and in several languages.
The App does not diagnose anything and is not medical advice. It shows the classification as published. Choosing a code is your professional decision, and the App is not a substitute for clinical judgement or for the coding rules that apply where you work.
ICD-11 is not yet the classification for official reporting in every country. Where ICD-10 or a national modification is still required (in Poland, for example), use the classification your authority prescribes.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own lawful purposes.
The App’s own code, design and texts are ours. The classification is not:
| Content | Owner | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| ICD-11: structure, codes, English texts and the translations published through the WHO ICD-API | World Health Organization (WHO) | CC BY-ND 3.0 IGO and the WHO ICD-11 licence terms |
| Polish translation of ICD-11 (pre-release) | Published by the Polish Ministry of Health / Centrum e-Zdrowia in the coding-system registry (RSK) | CC BY-ND 4.0 |
Citation required by WHO: International Classification of Diseases, Eleventh Revision (ICD-11), World Health Organization (WHO) 2019 https://icd.who.int/browse11. Licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 3.0 IGO licence (CC BY-ND 3.0 IGO).
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. In particular:
| Limitation | |
|---|---|
| Release | The App shows the release it has downloaded. WHO publishes a new release every year; the App may show an older one until you update the data |
| Content | Texts come from WHO and, for Polish, from the registry, as they were published. We do not check them medically and do not correct them |
| Search | Ranking and matching are aids. An entry may not come up for the words you try; browse the chapters or search with the code |
| Downloads | The data host may be unavailable. What you have downloaded keeps working offline |
| Data updates | New releases and languages come from WHO and, for Polish, from the registry. If a publisher stops providing them or changes its terms, we may have to stop offering updates or downloads. Data you have already downloaded keeps working |
You must not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the App except where the law expressly permits it. The classification data inside the App stays under the licences in section 2; you may use it on those terms.
| Service | Provider | Terms |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting of the classification data | Cloudflare | Cloudflare Terms |
| Advertising (free version) | Google AdMob | Google Terms |
| Crash reporting and the ad-free period settings | Firebase (Crashlytics, Remote Config) | Google Terms |
| In-app purchase | Google Play Billing | Google Play Terms of Service |
| Distribution and updates | Google Play | Google Play Terms of Service |
Advertising: The free version shows a banner ad at the bottom of the home screen and the chapter list – never on an entry. Google chooses the ads; we do not control which ones are shown. The “Remove ads” purchase (section 6) removes them for good. For a period after installation the App runs without ads; its length is set by us, may change or end at any time, and does not create any entitlement.
We are not responsible for these services, their availability, or the content of the ads.
The App is free to use. It offers one optional purchase, “Remove ads”, which hides the banner ad for good. Everything else – search, browsing, all languages, downloads, favorites, history – works the same whether or not you buy it.
| What you get | The banner ad is hidden. No other feature changes |
| Type | A one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing recurring is charged |
| Where it applies | The purchase is tied to your Google account, so it follows you to your other Android devices and survives a reinstall |
| Restoring it | Automatic: the App asks Google Play about your purchases every time it starts, so there is nothing to restore by hand |
| Price and tax | Shown in the App before you confirm, in your local currency and including any tax Google applies for your country |
The payment itself is handled by Google Play, not by us. We never see your card, your name or your billing address; we only learn from Google whether the item is owned.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its own refund policy; you can also write to us and we will help where we can. Nothing here limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence, including any right of withdrawal. If a purchase is refunded, charged back or otherwise revoked by Google, the App notices it on a following start and the ads come back.
Availability. We may change the price of the purchase, or stop offering it, at any time. That does not affect purchases already made. If we ever stop showing ads altogether, the purchase has nothing left to remove, and you are not owed a refund for that.
The purchase pays for the App’s own work – the offline packs, search, the interface. It is not a charge for the classification, which stays under the licences in section 2.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. You use the App at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a code, text or search result shown by the App, or from your use of (or inability to use) the App.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. The sections that by their nature should survive termination (licences, disclaimers, limitation of liability) continue to apply.
We may update these Terms as the App changes. The current version is always at this page, and the effective date above shows the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
